National Guard shoots down Russian cruise missile with machine guns in Kyiv region (photo)

In the Kyiv region, a firing group of the 27th Pechersk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine shot down an enemy missile.

This is stated in the message of the brigade.

Thus, on December 29, a mobile firing group of the Guards detected an enemy missile moving in the direction of Kyiv. The military opened fire with machine guns.

As a result of hitting the target, the fuel tanks detonated, and the missile lost control and altitude. There was no detonation.

The press service of the 27th Pechersk Brigade of the National Guard emphasized that the National Guard’s fire teams were created to counter air strikes, in particular to shoot down missiles and kamikaze drones.

As a reminder, on December 29, the Russian army and aviation launched a massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities. There are deaths in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Odesa. In Kyiv, 16 civilians became victims of Russian terror.

In total, Russia killed 39 Ukrainians yesterday, and almost 160 others were injured.
