Newest armored vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: samples for combat use demonstrated in Ukraine

Ukrainian manufacturers presented Oleksandr Syrsky with the latest models of domestic military equipment: a modernized infantry fighting vehicle BMP-1TS with the Ukrainian module Spice-Synthesis, an armored vehicle Oncilla and a modernized six-wheeled armored vehicle that looks like a Mbombe 6×6.

The Mbombe 6×6 is a wheeled armored combat vehicle developed by Paramount Group. The armored vehicle can accommodate eight infantrymen, and each soldier has a separate mine-resistant seat. The vehicle accommodates three crew members: a commander, a driver and a gunner.

The armored vehicle weighing 16 tons has a protection class 3 according to STANAG 4569. It can withstand fire from small arms of 7.62 x 51 caliber. The manufacturer positions its armored vehicle as an anti-mine combat unit capable of withstanding a charge weighing up to 10 kg in TNT equivalent. This protection is provided by the two-layer V-shaped bottom of the case.

The armored vehicle is equipped with a Ukrainian-made Spice-Synthesis combat module. The module is equipped with a 30-mm ZTM-1 automatic cannon, a 30-mm KBA-117 automatic grenade launcher and twin 7.62-mm PKT machine guns. In addition, the module is integrated with the Barrier anti-tank missile system with 2 missile launchers.

The module is stabilized in two planes, so the operator can fire relatively accurately while moving. For all-weather operation, the gunner’s sight is equipped with a thermal imaging channel.

The Ukrainian-made Spice-Synthesis combat module, which is used on Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles, is manned. For this purpose, a “basket” of the combat compartment is installed under the module, in which the weapon operator is placed.

The armored vehicle has 6×6 all-wheel drive, equipped with a Cummins ISBe4 diesel engine (300 kW) with a 6-speed Allison automatic transmission. It can reach a speed of 100 km/h and has a range of 700 km.
