Nokia provides Ukraine with 5,000 Wi-Fi routers

The company will also create a separate group of experts to restore the telecom infrastructure of Ukraine

The Finnish telecommunications equipment manufacturer Nokia provides Ukraine with 5,000 routers.

This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

‘We have the first results of cooperation. After February 24, we received 1,770 routers from Nokia, which provide shelter schools with Internet. The second batch of 3,230 routers will arrive soon. They will allow tens of thousands of children to continue studying safely in school shelters during air raids,’ Fedorov said.

In addition, Nokia will create a separate group of experts to restore the telecom infrastructure of Ukraine. Also among future projects is the construction of a trunk Internet line across the Black Sea.

Fedorov explains that this will make Ukraine more attractive to top technology companies, such as Amazon and Meta because a secure connection with Asia and the Middle East is one of their priorities.
