Nokia unveils next-generation ruggedized smartphone XR
HMD Global, the Chinese company that owns the Nokia brand, has launched the Nokia XR21 ruggedized mobile device. It is the successor to the XR20 model, which debuted in 2021. The novelty surpasses its predecessor in all respects.
Conceptually, the new ruggedized smartphone is no different from the XR20. It meets the requirements of MIL-STD-810H and IP69. As a rule, ruggedized smartphones have huge plastic or rubber bumps. Nokia XR21 doesn’t have them. This makes it much more convenient to use the smartphone. Its body is 168 mm long, 78.6 mm wide, 10.5 mm thick, and weighs 231 g.
Compared to the XR20, the XR21 is more compact. Its predecessor was equipped with a 6.67″ display. X21 has a 6.49″ screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The hardware basis of the ruggedized gadget is the Snapdragon 695 microprocessor. It comes to market in a 6/128 GB configuration with a 64 MP rear camera and a 4800 mAh (33 W) battery.
The cost of the X21 ruggedized smartphone in the UK is 500 pounds, which is equivalent to 565 EUR. Thus, it cannot be called cheap.
