At the end of 2022, Norway, together with the United Kingdom, handed over Black Hornet microdrones to Ukraine. It has now become known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive a new batch of drones.
This was announced during the NATO summit in Vilnius by Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram. This is a batch of 1000 Black Hornets. It is not yet known when the drones will be delivered. By the way, the cost of one set, which includes two drones, a control panel, and a charging station, is $40-60 thousand.
The Black Hornet is a military unmanned microlight aircraft. It was developed by the Norwegian company Prox Dynamics for the British Army. The mini-drone’s operating time is 25 minutes. It can detect targets at a distance of up to 2 km. The maximum flight speed is 21.49 km/h.
