Not only the CV90 BMP: Sweden will transfer Archer self-propelled artillery installations to Ukraine
In addition to the CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, Sweden will also provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Archer self-propelled artillery systems.
Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson announced this. He did not reveal the number of self-propelled guns, but earlier there were 12 installations. More detailed information about the supply should be announced after the Rammstein meeting, which will take place tomorrow, January 20.
Archer is a modern Swedish 155-mm self-propelled artillery installation based on the Volvo A30D 6×6 chassis. It is designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, pillboxes, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field barriers. The ACS serves 3-4 people. It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 60 km (with Excalibur projectiles). Archer can fire more than 21 projectiles in 3.5 minutes.
