During the Vyshhorod archaeological expedition, two interesting artifacts were found: a metal key and a horse headdress. Both of these items have a long history and date back to the 12th century.

“The next day after the start of the expedition, we reached the level of the daytime surface of the Old Rus’ period. Several economic objects of the XI-XII centuries were outlined, further sampling of which should provide interesting results. Among the new individual finds are a fragment of a horse headdress (reshma) and an iron wrench of the XII century,” the press service of the Vyshhorod Historical and Cultural Reserve.

Earlier, during archaeological research, a medieval girdle of foreign origin was discovered.

The Vyshhorod Archaeological Expedition, which is conducted jointly by the Vyshhorod Historical and Cultural Reserve and the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, resumed its work several years ago. The excavations were carried out near the VICZ Pottery Museum to study the planning structure and material culture of princely Vyshhorod and to supplement the available information.
