OpenAI has surprised again: Ukrainians’ reaction to the launch of the new AI tool Sora

OpenAI has launched a new video generation model – Sora. With its help, users can quickly create videos using only text prompts.

Ukrainian users, including creatives, have already responded to the new product. We tell you what is known about the new OpenAI neuron and what the network thinks about it.

Advantages and disadvantages of Sora

According to the company’s website, Sora can create videos up to a minute long, maintaining visual quality and following user prompts.

The model is also capable of creating complex scenes with multiple characters, dynamic behavior, and detailed study of objects and backgrounds. It can also understand how objects behave in the physical world.

OpenAI assures that Sora can also create different shots in the same video while maintaining the same video style.

As for the disadvantages The model may have problems accurately modeling the physics of a complex scene and cause-and-effect relationships. For example, a person in the video can take a bite of a cookie, but after that, there will be no bite marks on it.

Sora can also confuse the spatial details of a hint, such as left and right.

Who can use Sora

Currently, the video generation model is available to a limited number of users, in part due to security concerns. Therefore, only teams that test the development have access. Artists, designers, and filmmakers will also be able to use the tool and provide feedback to improve the model’s performance.

Nevertheless, some users were able to experiment with the development. For example, the company’s CEO Sam Altman chose clues in X (Twitter) reposts and generated a video based on them.

For example, the query “Half duck, half dragon flying through a beautiful sunset with a hamster in adventure gear on his back” looks like this:

How the network reacted to the new OpenAI

Alexey Minakov, PR at Master of Code Global, wrote that with this development, OpenAI continues to set the bar high and be a leader in the AI race. In his opinion, the tool is transforming many industries and professions, especially creative ones, and Hollywood may be going on strike again.

Roosh PR Manager Kirill Chebotarov wrote that with the Sora release, OpenAI has once again shown who is in charge on the AI scene. He noted that earlier video generation tools worked poorly and produced low-quality videos, while this product is different.

Media personality Maksym Savanetsky wrote that many professions will no longer be what everyone is used to.

“The disappearance of a number of professions and the revolution in many industries that work with visual images is no longer a matter of 5-7 years, as it was thought a year ago. It’s probably a matter of 2-3 years,” Maxim believes.

X (Twitter) user @Missis_Babak wrote that with the advent of Sora, small orders in production will eventually disappear. “Although, on the other hand, productions can already learn how to write successful promos and then simply sell the new service,” she wrote.

And the user @shadealix noted that there will be even more videos for TikTok or Reels on Instagram. “Now funny cats will be virtual.”
