The private Polish railroad company SKPL will launch flights from Rava-Ruska to Warsaw in October. In November, the largest private rail passenger carrier in Central Europe, RegioJet (Czech Republic), is scheduled to launch a Chop-Prague flight. Yevhen Lyashchenko, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
As for SKPL, this will be the first experience of cooperation between UZ and a European company on the passenger route, noted Lyashchenko.
Instead, two projects are planned with RegioJet: Chop-Prague and Przemysl-Berlin-Hanover flights, he said.
Ukrzaliznytsia will pay SKPL for passenger transportation services on the company’s rolling stock. At the same time, the Ukrainian railroad company will receive funds from ticket sales, Lyashchenko said.
According to him, RegioJet will operate under a different model, which provides for full coverage of its operating costs. The model for distributing profits from ticket sales with UZ is still being discussed.
Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia formed an entire train capable of producing more than 10,000 meals a day, anywhere and anytime.
