Starting Monday, March 18, Ukrzaliznytsia will start selling online tickets for trains between Ukraine and Austria, the company’s press service reports.
In particular, we are talking about trains:
- Kyiv – Vienna – from now on, tickets will be available only online in the UZ mobile application with account verification via Diia.Signature.
- Chop – Vienna is available online in the UZ mobile application and at international ticket offices at railway stations.
At the next stage, tickets for Ukraine-Hungary trains traveling through Hungary in transit to Austria, i.e. Kyiv-Budapest-Vienna and Chop-Budapest-Vienna, will also be available online.
Direct connections between Ukraine and Hungary (Mukachevo – Debrecen, Mukachevo – Budapest, Chop – Záhony) will appear in the app a little later.
The new direct train No. 143/146 Vienna – Chop – Vienna has connections with night trains from Kyiv, Lutsk, and Rivne, and a train with Wi-Fi is running from Chop to Vienna.
Starting December 10, 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia raised tariffs for international routes. The biggest increase, by 72%, was in the price of tickets for the Kyiv-Warsaw-Kyiv train, which remains in high demand.
In terms of passenger traffic, UZ reached its pre-wide invasion levels in 2023. Long-distance trains carried 25 million passengers, including 2.1 million to European countries.
Seat availability tracking for specific trains or destinations is available for users authorized through Diia.Signature.
