Ukrzaliznytsia launches online ticket sales for trains to Austria

Starting Monday, March 18, Ukrzaliznytsia will start selling online tickets for trains between Ukraine and Austria, the company’s press service reports.

In particular, we are talking about trains:

  • Kyiv – Vienna – from now on, tickets will be available only online in the UZ mobile application with account verification via Diia.Signature.
  • Chop – Vienna is available online in the UZ mobile application and at international ticket offices at railway stations.

At the next stage, tickets for Ukraine-Hungary trains traveling through Hungary in transit to Austria, i.e. Kyiv-Budapest-Vienna and Chop-Budapest-Vienna, will also be available online.

Direct connections between Ukraine and Hungary (Mukachevo – Debrecen, Mukachevo – Budapest, Chop – Záhony) will appear in the app a little later.

The new direct train No. 143/146 Vienna – Chop – Vienna has connections with night trains from Kyiv, Lutsk, and Rivne, and a train with Wi-Fi is running from Chop to Vienna.

Starting December 10, 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia raised tariffs for international routes. The biggest increase, by 72%, was in the price of tickets for the Kyiv-Warsaw-Kyiv train, which remains in high demand.

In terms of passenger traffic, UZ reached its pre-wide invasion levels in 2023. Long-distance trains carried 25 million passengers, including 2.1 million to European countries.

Seat availability tracking for specific trains or destinations is available for users authorized through Diia.Signature.
