Problems at the border: Ukraine tightens control over men’s departure – social networks

Long lines have formed on the border with Poland, people are not allowed to leave

Over the past day, Ukraine has been experiencing problems with men leaving the country at the border with Poland. Many people are denied entry even if they have documents that give them the right to do so. The authorities do not officially comment on the situation.

But social media is already actively discussing it. It is noted that even the disabled of the third group and those accompanying the disabled are not allowed to leave.

For example, users of specialized Facebook groups complain about long lines at the checkpoints. They write that border guards have stopped letting men with group 3 disabilities out of the country. Those accompanying disabled people are also turned away.

In addition, the control over the documents of those traveling through the volunteer system “Shlyakh” has been strengthened. Certain categories of those who could leave safely before suddenly became unable to leave.

“Since 20:00, all men (those with many children, volunteers, disabled) are required to have a certificate from the military registration and enlistment office. Almost every bus or car has men in it, which is why there are queues,” writes one user.

Checks at the borders have been seriously intensified

The comments clarify that this happens at all checkpoints. In addition, representatives of the TCC were spotted at some of them.

“I stood on Rava-Ruska all night. They returned me to Ukraine. Only the first group (of people with disabilities – ed.) and those with many children are allowed to go… “Not all of them. The second and third disability groups are not allowed to leave,” another user writes.

It is also reported that truckers who do not have a deferral from the TCC have also stopped being allowed to pass. Many are being “turned back” to Ukraine.

The story of a father with many children is being shared on Telegram channels. Even though he had absolutely legal grounds for leaving, the man was not allowed to go abroad. A representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said that he would not leave the country without a document with a TCC.
