Putin is complex because of his old age. His “rivals” for the 2024 elections are chosen from those over 50

In March 2024, Russia is scheduled to hold presidential elections, in which current President Vladimir Putin is expected to participate. The media reports that the search for possible opponents of Putin has already begun, with the main requirement that they be at least 50 years old to avoid discussions about the age of the Russian dictator.

According to Medusa, the political bloc of the Russian presidential administration is considering the possibility that, in addition to Putin, representatives of three parliamentary parties will run in the March 2024 presidential election: The Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of the Russian Federation and the New People’s Party.

According to the plans, the incumbent Kremlin leader is expected to receive a lot of support from voters in the upcoming elections, with a “record” result of more than 80% of the vote with a high turnout of more than 70%.

The newspaper also writes that Vladimir Putin’s presidential campaign will focus on the “ideology of conservatism,” and Putin himself will be positioned as the “guardian of traditional values.”
