PzH 2000 set a world record in Ukraine
Ukrainian artillerymen speak positively of German weapons. This was stated by Armin Papperger, who works at Rheinmetall as CEO, in an interview with an RND correspondent.
The top manager noted that initially it was believed that the service life of the PzH 2000 gun was about 4.5 thousand. shots. After shooting 4.5 thousand. the manufacturer recommends replacing the barrel with a new one. Ukrainian artillerymen made 20 thousand rounds. shots. According to Papperger, this is an incredible figure.
Despite the positive assessment of the Rheinmetal CEO, the Ukrainian military is experiencing difficulties with the need to repair the PzH 2000. Due to the intensive use, artillery pieces began to fail. As a result, half of the allied self-propelled artillery systems were constantly undergoing repairs.
According to the soldiers of the 43rd Airborne Brigade, under favorable weather conditions, the self-propelled vehicle behaves perfectly on the battlefield. It is maneuverable and fast. After striking the targets, the self-propelled gun quickly leaves the position to avoid counter-battery fighting. It is better not to operate the unit in bad weather conditions, as it can get stuck in mud.
