Rare video of how Swedish sniper self-propelled gun destroyed Russian Msta-S
These self-propelled artillery systems are in service with the 45th Air Assault Brigade
The Ukrainian military destroyed another Russian self-propelled artillery system “Msta-S” – the press service of the 45th Airborne Brigade released footage of the hunt for the enemy self-propelled artillery system – a reconnaissance drone spotted the camouflaged vehicle and adjusted artillery fire on it, as a result of which the Msta-S was effectively destroyed.
“Minus the enemy’s self-propelled gun. The archer hits the target! 45th Airborne Brigade. Eastern direction,” the brigade commented on the video, hinting that the enemy vehicle was destroyed by a Swedish 155-mm Archer self-propelled artillery system.
The transfer of Swedish 155-mm Archer self-propelled artillery systems to Ukraine was officially approved in March 2013, and negotiations on the transfer of these vehicles have been ongoing at the official public level since August last year.
At the same time, in the fall of 2023, the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine publicly demonstrated this self-propelled gun for the first time in a video on the occasion of the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery of Ukraine.
The Archer is actually a kind of “sniper rifle” with automated processes, a range of 50-60 km and high rate of fire.
