Recent problems with ChatGPT are caused by a DDoS attack: possible culprits are linked to Russia
OpenAI has confirmed that the problems with ChatGPT and its developer tools were caused by a DDoS attack.
During the attack, users received messages about system overload, and most users could not access the service. Initially, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman blamed the platform’s new features, but the company later admitted to a targeted attack.
The hacker group Anonymous Sudan, which is believed to be Russian, claimed responsibility for it. In addition, Anthropic also faced problems with its artificial intelligence, but it is not yet known whether these two incidents are related. All the problems caused by the attack are related to interruptions in the ChatGPT and API, which the company is trying to resolve.
the usage of our new features from devday is far exceeding our expectations.
we were planning to go live with GPTs for all subscribers on Monday but still haven’t been able to. we hope to soon.
there will likely be service instability in the short term due to load. sorry :/
