Reconnaissance aircraft from Australia to monitor arms shipments to Ukraine (video)

The aircraft will monitor the routes of weapons and humanitarian cargo to Ukraine

Australia will allocate one reconnaissance aircraft to monitor humanitarian and military cargo delivered to Ukraine, Reuters reports, citing Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

As noted, Australia will send an E-7A Wedgetail airborne surveillance aircraft from the Royal Air Force to Germany, which will operate for six months with up to 100 crew members and support personnel.

According to the Prime Minister of Australia, such a move will help protect multinational logistics hubs “essential for the flow of military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.”

At the same time, it is noted that the aircraft will not fly into the airspace of Ukraine, nor into the airspace of Belarus and Russia while performing its missions.

As a reminder, the E-7A Wedgetail is a long-range radar detection aircraft based on the Boeing 737 Next Generation passenger aircraft. It is equipped with a Multi-Role Electronically Scanned Array radar from Northrop Grumman.
