Russia clones Ukrainian websites and media to spread fake news

To spread fake news and propaganda, Russia cloned the websites of Ukrainian media outlets Unian, Ekonomichna Pravda and UNN (Ukrainian National News)

This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security.

On cloned websites, Russia spreads fakes, including that Ukraine sells children on illegal markets and that child evaders hide in universities.

The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security reports another Russian attack on popular Ukrainian resources. Russian clone sites copy the look and feel of the original page and promote pro-Kremlin narratives.

The address of Unian is incorrect: unian.org
Correct address: unian.ua

The fake address of Ekonomichna Pravda: spletnik-naroda.com
Correct address: epravda.com.ua

Fictitious UNN address: golos-naroda-ua.com
Real address: unn.com.ua

“We urge readers to be careful, always check the correctness of the addresses of these sites and be critical of the information they receive,” the Center emphasized.
