Russia has about 100 more Su-35s and several A-50Us in its aviation arsenal, the GRU confirms

The Russian army has about 100 Su-35 multifunctional fighters, more than 100 Su-34 fighter-bombers, and seven A-50U long-range radar detection and guidance aircraft. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense in response to a request from ArmyInform.

The DIU reported that three A-50U aircraft are undergoing repairs and are also being modernized.

According to intelligence, the work is being carried out at the facilities of the Taganrog Beriev Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex and the Aviastar aircraft plant in Ulyanovsk.

  • On February 29, the Defense Forces shot down three Russian aircraft. In the morning, it was reported that one Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber was shot down in the east. Later, Oleshchuk said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had shot down two more Su-34s in the areas of Avdiivka and Mariupol.
  • On March 1, a Russian plane was shot down near Mariupol as it attempted to strike Ukrainian positions with guided aerial bombs.
  • On March 2, the Air Force struck two more Russian aircraft.
