Russia is using a super-powerful invisible defense around Sevastopol, visible on satellite images

During the attacks of Ukrainian drones, the enemy in the still-occupied Sevastopol turns on extremely powerful electronic warfare equipment that creates real “lights” on satellite SAR images.

The true scale of the electronic warfare equipment used by Russia to protect its military facilities is already visible from space. This is in the literal sense, because we are talking about powerful interference causing lights in satellite images using SAR technology.

As a reminder, SAR is imaging with a synthetic aperture radar that allows you to “see through” clouds, fog, smoke, and is independent of the light level. These are the images from the publicly available Sentinel 1 that show the characteristic “spots” of interference.

For example, the picture from November 23 shows just such a “glow”:

But in the image from November 24, we managed to record very powerful interference. At the same time, on November 24, the Russian Federation reported a massive UAV attack in the amount of dozens of units in the still occupied Crimea.

As for November 23, Russia reported a surface drone attack only in the morning of November 22, but it is possible that the enemy continued to keep electronic warfare equipment on the next day, or that there was a threat of another attack.

At the same time, it is clear that the enemy uses electronic warfare equipment only from time to time, and today’s image from 28.11 shows no such “lights”.

In addition, according to Naval News, analyst Damien Simons, who noticed the “lights,” also recorded the enemy’s active use of satellite navigation spoofing in occupied Sevastopol. This was evident in the errors in the AIS (Automatic Identification System), when a number of ships and boats in the bay “teleported” 8 km to land.

At the same time, SAR imagery over the past few days in the occupied Crimea around other facilities has not recorded such active Russian electronic warfare, which suggests that the maximum concentration of the enemy’s most powerful means is only in Sevastopol itself.
