Russian civilian aircraft will be repaired and maintained in Iran, despite the fact that Tehran is significantly delaying the completion of the work.
This was stated by Vice President of the Islamic Republic for Science and Technology Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, IRNA reports .
“Russia has signed several large contracts with Iranian companies that stipulate that aircraft from Russia will undergo maintenance and repair in the Islamic Republic,” he said.
According to him, Iran is one of the largest suppliers of aircraft engines and specialists in the maintenance and repair of aircraft components.
On August 6, during talks in the Islamic Republic, Russia and Iran agreed to sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of overhaul and production of airplanes and helicopters.
