Russian kamikaze drones crossed the border of a NATO country during an attack on a Ukrainian seaport in Odesa region

In recent weeks, Russia has been conducting many strikes in the Odesa region, using kamikaze drones and anti-ship missiles. During one of the attacks, Russian drones violated Romanian airspace.

Tudor Cernega, the mayor of Cheatalkii commune in Tulcea, said that after the attack on the Ukrainian seaport in Izmail, Odesa region, Russian kamikaze drones crossed the Romanian border. According to local residents and Danube sailors, one of the drones went down in a local forest. No UAV wreckage was found.

Residents reported several times that unmanned aerial vehicles flew over their homes. Later, they panicked when they heard the sounds of the Ukrainian air defense system destroying the drones.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defense has stated that there is no direct military threat to the country from the Russian Federation. It was also announced that the eastern borders would be strengthened.
