Russian missile upper stage crashes into a house near Belgorod (photo)

A Russian rocket booster fell in the town of Stroitel, Belgorod region. A woman was injured in the incident.

According to the Russian media, the incident occurred on March 17, but it was kept quiet for two days before the information was leaked to the media. The object fell at 8 Troitska Street. A house was damaged and one woman was injured.

It was probably part of a Russian air defense missile. The air defense missile has a self-destruct device, so only its upper stage can fall to the ground. Photos of a brick building with an object that looks like a missile tail stuck in its wall appeared in Russian public media.

Commentators note that the photo shows an object that looks like the upper stage of a Pantsyr-S1 air defense missile. A similar incident occurred in November of 2013, when a Pantsyr upper stage pierced the wall of a house in the Moscow region.
