Saab to present Barracuda camouflage radio-transparent mesh at DSEI 2023
On September 12, the DSEI 2023 exhibition will open in the capital of Great Britain. Saab plans to present the Barracuda camouflage radio-transparent mesh.
The main feature of this cloaking device is radio transparency for selected frequencies of radar and communication systems. ULCAS-FSS technology is implemented in the camouflage net. As a result, it can be used to mask wireless communication antennas, satellite antennas, and radar.
Henning Robach, who is the head of the Saab Barracuda division, noted that the company’s engineers managed to bring camouflage to a qualitatively different level. The mesh is available in two versions: for the protection of military vehicles and infantry. The first version proved to be a great success in the Afghanistan campaign. Armored units used Barracuda mesh to reduce the heat signature of tanks.
The high quality of the heat-absorbing camouflage mesh has enabled Saab to receive many orders for the Barracuda from different countries.
