Future Samsung Galaxy S23 flagships will also be able to send emergency SMS via satellite. In addition to this, the satellite connection in the Galaxy S23 will offer features that the iPhone does not have.

Korean outlet ET News reports that Samsung is developing satellite technology for the Galaxy S23 series, and Iridium is the obvious satellite partner.

The publication adds that Samsung is working on transmitting low-quality text messages and images via satellite. The ability to send images is a step up from the satellite functionality available on Apple and Huawei phones. Both of these brands only allow you to send emergency messages and location information via satellite.

So far, the satellite function of the Galaxy S23 is at the level of rumors. Therefore, it remains unknown when Samsung will offer this service, if indeed it will. Details like pricing and geographic availability are also unknown.
