Samsung patents a foldable ASUS ZenBook-style laptop with a flexible screen
‘Samsung’ is probably working on a 2-screen laptop, which is visually similar to the similar development of the company ‘Asus’. It became known about the relevant developments from the patent that was ‘illuminated’ the day before.
The document was published by 91Mobiles. The patent shows that the South Korean tech giant has filed for registration a new product visually similar to the ZenBook Fold 17.3″. The foldable form factor allows you to use the ‘notebook’ of the Taiwanese brand as a single panel.
Despite the external similarity, there is one significant difference between the devices. This is a physical keyboard on one half of the display in the South Korean device. This means that when the screen is fully unfolded, one continuous panel will not work (the half with the keyboard can act as an additional display).
In other words, the device is functionally more similar to the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo. There is a small space on the side of the keyboard that can function as a touchpad.
The patent does not disclose other details.
