Satellite images confirm destruction of Kardymovo oil depot

Details of the attack on a fuel and energy facility in the village of Kardymovo, Smolensk region of Russia, have become known.

The relevant satellite images were publishedby the Dnipro | OSINT channel.

The published satellite images show a large area of burning, indicating a high degree of damage.

Also, out of 16 oil tanks, only two survived, while the rest were completely burned out during the massive fire.

In addition, the attack completely burned out nine tanks with fuel and lubricants.

As a reminder, the strike was carried out on April 20, 2024, when the fires were allegedly caused by an attack by Ukrainian attack drones that Russian air defense was trying to shoot down.

At the time, the governor of the region said that the strike was aimed at oil tanks in the region.

At the same time, local residents began uploading videos to the web showing some of the tanks on fire.

According to locals, 4 to 5 explosions were heard on the territory of the oil base.

It should be noted that the oil depot was used by the Russian private oil company Lukoil and is located at coordinates 54.88092751720498, 32.43122400272229.

As a reminder, on the night of May 1, 2024, attack drones attacked oil refineries in Ryazan and Voronezh region of Russia.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack on the company took place around three in the morning.
