Saudi Arabia starts construction of a unique ski resort “Troyen”
Neom, the Saudi Arabian-owned land development agency, recently shared new footage from the construction site of the Trojen project, which promises to be one of the most ambitious ski resorts in the world. Located about 50 kilometers from the shores of the Gulf of Aqaba in a mountainous area, the resort will spread its expanses at an altitude of 1500 to 2600 meters above sea level.

The complex is planned as a world-class destination for recreation and sports, including a ski village with a variety of hotels, a health and wellness center, an observatory, a unique crystal skyscraper, and a nature reserve for nature lovers. All of this will be part of a larger plan to transform Saudi Arabia into an attractive tourist destination that includes innovation and environmental preservation.
The resort is scheduled to be completed in 2026. Three years after its opening, in 2029, Troyen will host the Asian Winter Games, which is a significant recognition of the potential and high standards underlying this project. It is worth noting that the initiative to build such a resort in a region that is not associated with snow activities emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plans to diversify its economy and attract international tourists.
