SBU blows up Major General Yuriy Afanasyevsky, who “headed” LPR customs – media

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detonated an explosive device on the territory of the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, which was used by the occupier Yuriy Afanasievsky, who headed the customs of the so-called “LPR”.

This was reported by several media outlets, citing sources in the special service.

Afanasyevsky was blown up in his own home, and received numerous shrapnel wounds to his head, neck, and abdomen. Now the occupier is in intensive care in a serious condition.

According to the SBU source, Afanasyevsky is a major general and an agent of the central office of the Russian Federation’s FSB. He is known for acting as a “financier” for the so-called head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasichnyk.

According to the source, Afanasyevsky played a role in money laundering to finance armed groups fighting against Ukraine. He was also subjected to personal sanctions by the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, and Japan.
