Shield AI tests futuristic V-BAT drone that can take off and land like SpaceX rockets

Shield AI conducted a test flight of the V-BAT unmanned aerial vehicle.

V-BAT is a futuristic drone designed as an unmanned aerial system with vertical take-off and landing. The peculiarity of the device is that it can take off and land like rockets of the company SpaceX, due to the use of a single channel fan with a thrust vector.

The UAV can carry radars with synthesized equipment or electronic warfare equipment, depending on the task being performed. The carrying capacity of the unmanned aerial vehicle is characterized as sufficient.

Shield AI launched a V-BAT from the Zumwalt-class stealth destroyer USS Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001) as part of its latest test. The company plans to put a swarm of drones on every US and allied destroyer, aircraft carrier, amphibious assault ship and patrol ship.
