“Space traffic”: astrophotographer shows how busy the movement of geostationary satellites is
Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy has published a photo of the Orion Nebula, which shows fragmentary lines left by satellites during a five-hour night survey.
Space traffic!!
This pic of the Orion Nebula I shot last night shows just how packed the equatorial plane is thanks to geostationary satellites. I can process these out (very easy) but I thought I’d leave them in to show just how much is up there. (Note- these aren’t starlink) pic.twitter.com/62p3VM36jW

“This image of the Orion Nebula I took last night shows how full the equatorial plane is thanks to geostationary satellites,” McCarthy wrote.
He noted that although these lines can be removed during photo processing, he left them to show the “load” of the geostationary orbit.
The astrophotographer also added that these are not Starlink satellites.
