SpaceX is preparing for the first-ever launch of the Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket in March

The head of the SpaceX company once again reminded about the planned debut launch of the Starship spacecraft. The first commercial application is expected in 2025.

What is known

Elon Musk wrote on Twitter that the first test launch of Starship will take place in March 2023, if all tests are successful. If the schedule is met, in 2025 the ship will be used as part of the Artemis III mission to land people on the moon.

SpaceX, under a contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will build the lander for Starship. The cost of the agreement with the federal space agency was $3 billion.

The SpaceX system consists of a Starship and a Super Heavy rocket. They are equipped with 6 and 33 Raptor engines, respectively. The total height is 120 meters.

The ship will launch into space from the Starbase spaceport. The Super Heavy will launch the Starship into orbit and return to the pad in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship will fly around the Earth and land near Hawaii.
