SpaceX launches classified satellites for the Missile Defense Agency and the Space Development Agency

SpaceX has launched classified satellites for the U.S. Space Force into orbit as part of the secret USSF-124 mission, Space reports.

The mission of the USSF-124 is related to US national security.

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying satellites was launched from the Space Force Station at Cape Canaveral in Florida on February 15 at 00:30 Kyiv time.

The first stage of the Falcon 9 successfully returned to Earth about 8 minutes after launch.

According to SpaceX, this mission was the seventh launch and landing for this launch vehicle.

The details of the mission are very limited, but it is known that six satellites were sent into orbit as part of USSF-124:

  • 2 satellites for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency;
  • 4 satellites for the Space Development Agency.

However, SpaceX did not provide information about the spacecraft or their tasks in orbit.

“With each national security launch, we continue to strengthen America’s capabilities and ability to meet growing threats in a dynamic world.”
