SpaceX launches the first satellites for cellular communication

SpaceX has scheduled the launch of a new batch of its Starlink Internet satellites for December 15.

The company announced this on its website.

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying 21 Starlink satellites will be launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This batch of satellites will include six of the latest devices with Direct to Cell capability, which will allow mobile operators to provide uninterrupted global access to text messages and calls.

The launch will be available to watch live on SpaceX’s Twitter account. After launch, the first stage of the Falcon 9 will return to Earth. In addition, 21 Starlink satellites will be launched into Earth orbit. SpaceX has already carried out many launches, in particular to build the Starlink network, which currently has more than 5100 active satellites.
