On March 14, Elon Musk’s company conducted the third test of the Starship transportation system.
SpaceX engineers managed to achieve a number of important breakthroughs during the last launch: they opened and closed the Starship’s cargo bay, conducted a fuel pumping test (it is not yet known how successful it was), but failed to bring the upper stage of the Starship to the Indian Ocean as planned.
During reentry, the Starship crashed at an altitude of 65 kilometers.
The last stage of Starship’s life was captured thanks to the Starlink satellite communication system.
Viewers watching the broadcast could see in real time how Starship returned to our planet’s atmosphere in a cloud of plasma.
