Spain provides Ukraine with missiles for Patriot air defense systems

Spain has sent Ukraine a batch of missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, as confirmed by the country’s defense minister, El Mundo reports. The specific number of missiles is not disclosed for security reasons, but it is known that the delivery took place in cooperation with international partners.

The Patriot air defense missile system, developed by the American company Raytheon, includes air interception missiles and a high-performance radar system. These systems are very effective against airplanes and tactical missiles, with a hit probability of 0.8-0.9 and 0.6-0.8, respectively.

Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have three Patriot batteries, and the fourth system is expected to arrive in the near future. This supply is part of the international support for Ukraine’s defense efforts.
