Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde announced that the Russian gas pipelines ‘Nord Stream’ and ‘Nord Stream-2’ were damaged as a result of explosions. Probably, the politician suggests, there was sabotage.
The politician wrote about this in her microblog on Twitter. ‘The gas leak from the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines in the exclusive economic zones is the result of explosions, probably caused by sabotage,’ Linde wrote.
Press Conference this evening with @SwedishPM & Minister for Defence. Gas leaking from Nord Stream 1 & 2 in 🇸🇪🇩🇰 exclusive economic zones are consequences of detonations, probably caused by sabotage. The culprits are being sought
She noted that Stockholm continues to gather information and ‘does not rule out any causes, actors or motives.’ ‘The destruction that occurred on one day at the same time on three strands of the sea gas pipelines of the Nord Stream system is unprecedented,’ said the Russian operator of the gas pipeline. This was followed by a hint from Putin’s spokesman Dmytro Peskov. He did not deny that it was a planned sabotage.
In fact, the Russians are hinting that someone deliberately damaged their gas pipelines. This position is convenient for a number of reasons. First, in order to justify the mobilization of Russia, it is necessary to confirm at least some kind of attack on them. Here they can present a situation when the belligerent West destroys their gas pipelines – they chop off the legs of the chicken that laid golden eggs for the aggressor’s budget.
Secondly, for the Russian Federation, this is also the reason for refusing to supply blue fuel through the gas pipeline until the end of the heating season. He said, there is no technical possibility for this.
It was previously reported that the German government took over the ‘daughters’ of the Russian ‘Rosneft’, Rosneft Deutschland GmbH and RN Refining & Marketing. Thus, the Federal Network Agency gained control over the shares of three oil refineries (refineries): Schwedt (Schvedt), Miro (Karlsruhe) and Bayernoil (Fauburg).
