Telegram has launched a paid version of Premium – the active audience of the messenger already exceeds 700 million
Telegram has introduced a paid version of Premium with a monthly subscription, which will allow the team to further increase the limits and add new resource-intensive features while maintaining the free version of the messenger. Simultaneously with the launch of the paid subscription, the Telegram development team announced that the active audience of Telegram has launched a paid version of Premium – the active audience of the messenger already exceeds 700 million messengers exceeded 700 million people. The last time Telegram shared statistics was in early 2021, when the messenger’s audience was more than 500 million people.
The paid version of Telegram was first announced in early June and promised to be launched by the end of this month. Late in the evening of June 19, the Telegram team announced the availability of an update that activates the Premium subscription. It costs $4.99 per month. You can subscribe in Settings> Telegram Premium.
So far, the subscription is only available for iPhone users – it was added in version 8.8. It is not specified when the paid version on Android will be launched.

It marks not only another milestone in the development of the messenger, but also the beginning of the era of reliable monetization in accordance with the principles of the Telegram. We are convinced that the direction of Telegram’s development should be determined primarily by users, not advertisers. What gives Telegram Premium
After subscribing to Telegram Premium, almost all limits are doubled:
- Upload files (photos, videos and other files) up to 4 GB to the application.
- Accelerated download of various content (photos, videos and other files) at maximum speed without restrictions.
- Disable channel ads.
- Up to 1000 subscriptions to channels.
- Connect to 4 accounts in any program.
- Chat organization: up to 20 folders to which you can add up to 200 chats.
- Pin up to 10 chats in the main list.
- Simultaneous use of up to 20 short public links (t.me).
- 400 selected GIF animations and 10 selected stickers.
- Advanced section “About myself”: more characters and the ability to use any links.
- More captions in photo and video captions.
- Voice message recognition (instant decryption of a voice message after pressing the button next to it).
- Unique reactions and stickers.
- More chat management features.
- A special icon next to the name, symbolizing the contribution to the support of the Telegram.
- A video avatar that will be played to all users not only in the user profile, but also in the chat list and the chats themselves.

New free features
All existing features are still free for all users. In addition, the team continues to add new features and this update brings a number of innovations:
Applications for joining public groups:
- Administrators can now set up to join public groups on uninvited requests.
– Users who have joined the group will be shown the “Submit Application” button.
– Once the administrator approves the application, the user will be able to chat.
– Animated download bar for more convenient tracking of downloads of large photos, videos and other files to Telegram from other programs. - The verified chat account icon (a special icon for verified groups and channels will now appear not only in the chat list and profiles, but also at the top of the chat).
- Improvements for bots.
- Improved support for ProMotion screens (120 frames per second guaranteed when playing animations on the latest iPhone and iPad models).
- Fast and stable operation of the program thanks to more than 100 fixes and improvements.
