Tesla is taking the Cybertruck on a promotional tour of China, although it is not yet on sale there

Tesla plans to tour China to present its Cybertruck electric vehicle and attract new customers amid growing competition.

This was reported by Bloomberg

Although Cybertruck is not available for sale in China, the tour will stop in many cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xi’an and Chongqing. In addition, Tesla is organizing an online voting where participants can provide their personal data and choose the nearest Tesla store to receive promotional calls about other car models.

This tour is part of Tesla’s strategy to promote itself in China, where competition is growing from BYD, Li Auto, and Geely. The growth of the Chinese electric vehicle market is projected to slow in 2024 due to uneven recovery from the pandemic. In 2023, Tesla sold 1.81 million cars worldwide, and most of them were shipped from its Shanghai factory.
