The Armed Forces adapted the RBS-17 complex with Hellfire missiles to attack ground targets

With the help of the RBS-17 complex, small ships are destroyed, but the Armed Forces use it in a different way. According to the data of Ukraine Weapons Tracker, fighters of our army have adapted the Swedish anti-ship complex for defeating ground targets.

The RBS-17 allows you to fire AGM-114C missiles with laser guidance. The Hellfire has a flight range of 8 km. Targets for missile strikes are illuminated by the gunner using a laser pointer.

Swedish anti-ship complex RBS-17 According to experts, it is not easy to illuminate targets on the ground in conditions of insufficient visibility. Journalists of Defense Express believe that this problem was solved by the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the help of drones. The Ukrainian army has aircraft capable of illuminating ground targets with a laser from the air. In particular, we are talking about the American Puma drones. The use of UAVs enables the Armed Forces to work on targets from closed positions.
