The Armed Forces of Ukraine created an improvised MLRS from the LAU-131 aircraft launcher and Hydra 70 unguided missiles on the basis of an SUV

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have created an improvised multiple rocket launcher system. A conventional civilian off-road vehicle is used as a chassis.

What is known

The launcher is the LAU-131 aircraft system. It is usually equipped on helicopters and airplanes. However, the Ukrainian military managed to secure the rocket launcher in the trunk of the SUV.

The LAU-131 has seven tubes for launching American Hydra 70 unguided missiles of 70 mm caliber. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also use a guided version of the Hydra 70 called the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS).
