The authorities of the Russian Federation have blocked the Google News aggregator

Russian users faced the impossibility of opening the news aggregator Google News on the territory of the Russian Federation. When they try to log in, they are shown a loading window. At the same time, the aggregator itself does not load.

According to RIA Novosti, users see a message about the impossibility of accessing the web resource. Allegedly, the Google News aggregator is unable to provide a secure connection. The agency’s journalists note that the news aggregator belonging to the search giant is missing from the register of sites banned in Russia. Thus, it was not officially blocked.

GlobalCheck data indicate that access to the Google News portal through the Rostelecom provider is impossible. It cannot be accessed through the networks of operators MTS, Tele2, Yota and ‘Beeline’.

After the intrusion began, Roskomnadzor restricted Russian users’ access to the Google News aggregator due to the publication of inaccurate information about a ‘special operation’ conducted by the Kremlin.
