Law enforcement officers seized the corporate rights of a large cosmetics and perfume chain, as well as almost half a billion funds in its bank accounts due to non-payment of taxes. This is reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.

We are talking about the Brocard chain, which belongs to the owner of the L’Etoile chain, Russian Tatiana Volodynia.

‘Corporate rights – 100% shares of the authorized capital of two economic entities in the amount of 881 thousand UAH, more than 700 thousand units of products and funds placed in bank accounts in the amount of more than 420 million UAH were seized at the initiative of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.’

The bureau specified that these companies through controlled offshore enterprises and a company from Russia ‘belong to a well-known Russian businesswoman’, but law enforcement officers traditionally do not mention her name.

As the investigation established, the company’s officials registered tax invoices, understating the sales price of the goods, and did not show the actual volumes of product sales in the tax and financial reporting. Thus, the companies deliberately evaded payment of value added tax for 33 million hryvnias.

Employees also created an artificial tax credit for advertising services. This led to an understatement of the VAT tax liability by UAH 17.8 million.

The total amount of taxes that did not reach the state budget from the activities of enterprises is more than UAH 50 million.

Law enforcement officers searched the offices and warehouses of the companies and seized more than 700,000 items of goods.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under the article on deliberate tax evasion. The sanction of the article provides for a fine and deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
