Ukrpass has developed and implemented a nationally important bus station solution at Kyiv Central Bus Station. This was reported by Ukrpass owner Oleg Mishchenko in Forbes.
According to preliminary estimates, the system will help replenish Ukraine’s budget by more than UAH 1 billion a year and bring 60% of the bus transportation market out of the shadows.
“The bus station solution at the Kyiv Central Bus Station is a pilot project designed to minimize human interference in the operation of the bus harbor. This minimizes corruption risks and enables carriers to operate transparently and passengers to travel comfortably,” said Oleg Mishchenko.
According to him, the bus station solution includes closed areas of bus stations for passenger safety, automatic operation of barriers with bus number recognition to control the legality of carriers, turnstiles that read the QR code of the ticket, automated calculation of bus fares, and a personal account for the carrier and passenger.
At the same time, it is planned to establish a financial institution to ensure settlements with carriers and implement a loyalty program that will provide competitive advantages for carriers. “This is a very important element of our digitalized solution for the passenger transportation market,” said owner Mischenko.
Another innovation is to allow passengers to travel anywhere in the world through the bus station’s ticket office. “From now on, the ticket office offers the option of purchasing tickets not only for buses, but also for rail and air transport of the partner countries,” said Oleg Mischenko.
It is planned that the bus station solution will be implemented at 23 more Ukrpass partner bus stations.
