The first NASAMS complexes will soon be installed in Ukraine
Ukraine will receive two sophisticated NASAMS air defense systems. The manufacturing company Raytheon Technologies has already transferred these systems to the US government. CEO of Raytheon, Greg Gase, announced this on CNBC.
“We just delivered two NASAMS systems to the government. They will soon arrive in Ukraine. This is a short-range air defense system, it can shoot down everything in the sky – from drones to ballistic missiles and fighter jets,” said Gaze.
“A senior Pentagon official said Monday that NASAMS will be delivered to Ukraine ‘over the next few weeks’ and that Ukraine will announce when they are in the country and operational,” the report said.
In addition to the two mentioned complexes, the United States promised to deliver six more NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine later. The CEO of Raytheon Technologies emphasized that the company expects more orders from NASAMS “due to the rapid demand for products.”
It will be recalled that on October 14, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced that Ukraine could receive NASAMS systems before the end of the month.
On October 24, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany will provide Ukraine with three more IRIS-T air defense systems, each of which is capable of protecting a large city.
