The head of Baykar hinted that the company may create a Turkish analogue of the F-16 Fighting Falcon

Haluk Bayraktar, the head of the Baykar company, hinted that Turkey might get its own fighter jet.

After the United States refused to supply Turkey with Predator drones, Baykar developed the Bayraktar TB2 strike drone. Khaluk Bayraktar wondered what the US refusal to sell F-16 fighter jets could lead to.

Perhaps in this way he hinted at the development of a Turkish aircraft. On Twitter, the CEO of the Baykar company also published a photo of the new unmanned aerial vehicle Bayraktar Kizilelma. In the news stories of the Western media, it often appears not just as a drone, but as an unmanned fighter.

The conflict between Turkey and the US arose after Ankara decided to buy Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. In this regard, the US excluded Turkey from the development program of the fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter.

Turkey instead requested 40 F-16 Fighting Falcons, but Congress blocked the sale a few months ago. Turkey has the opportunity to receive fighters if Joe Biden (Joe Biden) confirms that the supply of F-16 will strengthen the national security of the United States.

Meanwhile, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that not only the USA is selling planes. It is possible that Turkey will be able to buy Russian Su-35 fighter jets if it fails to reach an agreement with Washington. Alternative options – Eurofighter Typhoon and Dassault Rafale.
