On December 11, one of the checkpoints on the border between Ukraine and Poland was unblocked. We are talking about the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint.
First Vice Prime Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said this on his Facebook page.
“The blockade of the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint is over. Stable truck traffic has been restored since 14:00,” he wrote.
According to him, 15 vehicles have passed through in the direction of Ukraine – they are at the checkpoint.
“Also, 25 trucks are being cleared for Poland,” Kubrakov said.
The minister also reminded that the blockade of the largest cargo crossing point lasted for more than a month.
The situation on the border with Poland
On November 6, Polish carriers announced the start of a strike, which, according to them, was supposed to last until early January 2024. As a result, in the first hours, they practically blocked three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine – Yahodyn-Dorogusk, Krakovets-Korcheva, Rava-Ruska-Krebenne – allowing no more than one truck to pass through each way per hour. Later, on November 23, the carriers also blocked the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint. There were also reports of intentions to extend the blockade to the Nyzhankovychi – Malhowice checkpoint.
