The Magura V5 marine drone has become suitable for mining

Ukrainian defense industry has developed a drone capable of laying mines in the water based on the Magura V5 marine drone. The Ukrainian military has conducted dozens of operations involving mine drones. The NYT article claims that this is the reason why the leadership of the Russian Black Sea Fleet decided to deploy warships to Novorossiysk.

Journalists of the American edition provide a photo of the standard modification of the Magura V5. It is not known what the drone-miner looks like. By the way, the occupiers were the first to report that Ukrainian drones had learned to mine the waters. In early December, the departmental publication “Marine Collection” published a note that on October 14, minesweepers conducted a combat trawling for mines in Sevastopol Bay.

The transfer of ships to Novorossiysk began in October. Almost all Kalibr carriers left Sevastopol Bay. If they were indeed transferred to the mainland port via Ukrainian miner drones, the likelihood of their return to Crimea is negligible.

By the way, about a week ago, Russia presented a crewless kamikaze boat “Dandelion” capable of carrying 600 kg of explosives. The declared range of the boat is 200 km.
