The most powerful DDoS attack was launched against Monobank

On the evening of Friday, January 19, the Monobank app was down due to a large-scale cyberattack. Later it became known that the attack was repelled.

Users complained that it was impossible to perform any action in the Monobank app. Transactions and technical operations were not working.

The company emphasized that it was working to remedy the situation.

“We are currently experiencing difficulties with the mobile application, and as a result, we may respond more slowly than usual. Please don’t worry, this issue is already in the hands of our specialists. Thank you for your understanding,” the bank’s chatbot said.

“The most powerful DDoS attack. The situation is under control,” wrote around 00:00 in Telegram, Monobank co-owner Oleg Gorokhovsky wrote.

About half an hour later, he reported about the second wave of the attack: “50 million requests. The second wave. We are standing!”.

At 00:43, the attack apparently ended. Horokhovsky wrote: “Let’s part ways!”;
