The Netherlands to provide Ukraine with €150 million worth of F-16 Fighting Falcon weapons
The Dutch government has announced a new military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
What is known
The information was shared by Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren. We are talking about a package worth 350 million euros. Of this amount, 150 million euros will be used to purchase ammunition for the fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets, which are to arrive in Ukraine in late spring or early summer. Unfortunately, the minister did not say what kind of ammunition he was talking about.

The remaining 200 million euros will be spent on the purchase of new reconnaissance UAVs. There is no information yet on when the supplies will begin.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multifunctional light fighter. It was developed by the American company General Dynamics. Due to its versatility and low cost, the F-16 is a success in the international market. It is in service with 24 countries. The F-16 is the most mass-produced fourth-generation fighter jet. As of 2009, more than 4,400 vehicles were built, and in 2016, more than 2,500 were in operation.
