The Nissan Ariya was the first car in history to travel from the North to the South Pole

After almost nine months of travel, the Nissan Ariya electric car became the first car in history – gasoline or electric – to drive all the way from the North to the South Pole.

The car was driven by Scottish traveler Chris Ramsey and his wife.

The expedition, which started in March 2023, successfully ended on December 15. The travelers covered more than 27 thousand kilometers across several continents and crossed different climatic zones, where temperatures ranged from minus 30 to plus 30 degrees Celsius.

Nissan Ariya was modified by Arctic Trucks, but it is not so far from the original model. The biggest change is the wheel arches, as larger tires need to be installed. The frame and bottom of the car were also reinforced.
